ABOUT THIS EVENT:
The Lodge at Bow Lake proudly presents our Legends of the Rockies Series, featuring fireside chats with some of the Rocky Mountains’ most interesting characters. Join us for a series of lively evenings this summer, where we’ll gather around the fireplace after dinner to hear some of the fascinating stories from many of the well-known folks around the Bow Valley.
Our fall edition of the Legends Series takes place on Thursday, September 18, 2025, and features Leanne Allison, an impeccable storyteller and award-winning filmmaker. Leanne Allison will share some of the incredible tales from her career making wildlife films, and treat us to a screening of her latest film, a cinematic poem titled “Losing Blue.”

If you’re staying the night with us, reservations are not required.

Cancellation policy: A 50% refund will be issued up to 48 hours in advance of the event. After 48 hours, the ticket is non-refundable.
About Leanne Allison
Leanne Allison is a filmmaker based in Canmore, Alberta, known for her award-winning feature-length documentaries, 'Being Caribou' and 'Finding Farley'. Both these films are based on long wilderness journeys in remote parts of Canada that continue to shape her work today. She is the co-creator of the National Film Board interactive documentary Bear 71, which is widely considered a seminal piece in the world of interactive media. Her most recent film, ‘Living with Wildlife,’ is about how people in the Bow Valley of Alberta have learned to live with grizzly bears and other wildlife. It is featured on the National Geographic short film showcase and is touring festivals around the world. Her track record shows her ability to move between media to tell powerful stories that make an impact.

In October, the Legends Series features Travis Rider, a Stoney Nation community member who works as an Indigenous Liaison with Arts Place Canmore. He also guides hikes around the Bow Valley area, using a cultural and historical land-based teaching approach.

About TRAVIS RIDER
A member of the Stoney Nation community, Travis Rider serves as Indigenous Liaison at Arts Place Canmore, promoting mental health and wellness through Stoney perspectives. He leads culturally grounded hikes in the Bow Valley and facilitates workshops across Alberta and Saskatchewan, fostering healing through traditional ways of knowing and land-based teachings.

Pull up a chair at our table for a very special dinner featuring wines from Kettle Valley Winery and help us celebrate the end of our 2025 season.
We are thrilled to host Kettle Valley Wine co-owner and winemaker Bob Ferguson and his wife, Colleen, who will join guests at the table for our four-course Harvest Dinner.
With an overnight stay as part of this event, there is plenty of time to mingle, enjoy the warming fireplaces, chat with Bob and Colleen, and of course sip on a glass or two of some of the Okanagan Valley's finest wine.
This unique event is all about creating a personable, intimate evening while showcasing the talent of our kitchen team. As such, we like to keep the numbers limited to only a few. We encourage you to book soon to save your spot at the table.

All spring, summer, and fall, guests of The Lodge can enjoy interpretive talks with Lake Louise Legend Joel Hagen from Great Divide Nature Interpretation to learn about the area's flora and fauna.
Joel is a Master Guide who studied biology at Simon Fraser University and has called Banff National Park home for over three decades. If you have an interest in learning more about the history and unique natural aspects surrounding The Lodge and Bow Lake, an hour with Joel is the perfect accompaniment to your time here.
Interpretive talks take place every Thursday at 3:30 PM in The Lodge. Meet Joel and get ready for an interactive, entertaining time!
